One thing is clear: the hardware team has to have a great day to be as good as the major league players, but parts of the team perform above average and would also deserve a regular place in a top team. This applies to the display, the memory sizes, and—under perfect conditions—the main camera with OIS. MediaTek's mid-range motor is not in the best condition, but it plays its part with confidence. The Poco M6 Pro is therefore not a designated gaming handset, but works perfectly in everyday use.

If we still had to express some wishes, a better chipset would probably be up there. While the Helio G99 is not necessarily strapped for power, it features compromises like 4G connectivity and 1080p video capture. Other than that, we weren't particularly impressed with the Poco M6 Pro's camera capabilities either, but it's not a dealbreaker. The same goes for the omission of HyperOS and the latest Android 14, both of which Xiaomi has promised to deliver as soon as possible, whatever that means. On the flip side, we enjoyed the 120Hz AMOLED display on the Poco M6 Pro. It gets plenty bright, especially for a budget device, and Xiaomi's software refresh rate handling is quite good.

ARM Mali-G57 MP2:
Integrerat grafikkort i mellanklass med 2 kluster. Baserat på Valhall-arkitekturen.
Bara vissa äldre spel kan spelas flytande med de här grafikkorten. Kretsar med delat minne har fördelen att de utvecklar mindre värme och ger längre batteritid. De duger gott för kontorsbruk, surfande och enklare bildbehandling, men spel och HD-video är inte i syftet med de här kretsarna.

Helio G99:
ARM-baserad octa-core SoC med 2x stora ARM Cortex-A76-kärnor och 6x små ARM Cortex-A55-kärnor, som är energieffektiva. Allt detta är klockat till 2,2 GHz. Den har ett integrerat LTE Cat-13-modem (4G) och ett ARM Mali-G57 MP2-grafikkort. Jämfört med den tidigare Helio G96 är G99 tillverkad med den senaste 6 nm-processen och har högre frekvenser.
