Med Envy x360 15 levererar HP en elegant omvandlingsbar laptop på 15.6 tum vars matt-svarta metallhölje borde vara starkare. Oavsett belastning blev den bara en aning varm och producerade heller inte särskilt mycket ljud.
HP Envy x360 15 (2020) är gjord för situationer där systemet bara utsätts för krävande belastning under korta stunder.
Tack vare riktigt bra batteritid (WLAN-batteritid på nästan 9.5 timmar) borde de flesta användare klara sig en hel dag utan laddning. Datorn går både att ladda med den inkluderade propretiära nätadaptern eller med en universell USB-laddare (genom USB C-porten).
Den tryckkänsliga IPS-skärmen får poäng för bra kontrast, stabila betraktningsvinklar och skaplig färgåtergivning. Men den maximala ljusstyrkan och färgomfånget visade sig båda vara för låga. Skärmen kan användas både med fingrarna eller med en HP Pen, som går att köpa till separat (1MR94AA; ca 300 - 400 kronor).
Den största svagheten är att den är dålig på att använda prestandan från sin Ryzen 5 4500U APU. Även om den kan hantera korta perioder av intensiv belastning (enkel- och multitrådad) så svarar den på konstant multitrådad CPU-belastning med reducerad klockfrekvens. Detsamma gäller GPU:n. Dessutom sjunker bilduppdateringen upprepade gånger när man spelar.
Andra kompakta Ryzen 5 4500U-enheter såsom Lenovo Ideapad 5 14ARE05 har visat att det är möjligt att upprätthålla konstant prestanda på en hög nivå. Vi kan bara hoppas att HP kan förbättra situationen med en BIOS- eller mjukvaruuppdatering.
