Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 Pro 14 OLED recension: En subnotebook med mycket CPU-kraft

Ryzen 9 och GeForce MX450.

Som tillval erbjuder Lenovo också sin kompakta 14-tums Yoga Slim 7 Pro-subnotebook med en OLED-skärm och en dedikerad GeForce MX450. Samtidigt behöver du inte heller klara dig utan en mycket kraftfull AMD Ryzen 9-processor i den här konfigurationen.

Med Yoga Slim 7 Pro erbjuder Lenovo en kompakt 14-Zoll-subnotebook som utmärker sig särskilt med sin kraftfulla 45-watt-processor från AMD. Vi har redan haft konfigurationen med Ryzen 9 5900HX, den integrerade Vega 8 GPUoch IPS-skärm för cirka 1200 euro (~1313 dollar) i vårt test, och nu tar vi en titt på modellen med Ryzen 9 5900HS i kombination med en dedikerad GeForce MX450grafikkort och en högupplöst OLED-skärm med 90 Hz för 1399 euro (~1531 dollar).

Vi kommer inte att diskutera fallet, inmatningsenheterna eller högtalarna i den här artikeln igen, men vi är nu intresserade av OLED-panelens kvalitet och om kylningen av den smala bärbara datorn klarar av att hantera den extra dedikerade GPU:n. Väska och utrustning

Även om vi redan känner till metallhöljeär vår nuvarande testenhet den ljusare versionen i ljust silver. Kvaliteten på Yoga Slim 7 Pro är på en mycket bra nivå, och det finns inte heller några problem med stabiliteten. Tangentbordet med de mörkgrå tangenterna och tvåstegsbelysningen erbjuder en ganska kort slaglängd och dess kvalitet är märkbart sämre än ThinkPad-modellernas, men det ska definitivt räcka för vardagliga inmatningsuppgifter. Vi stötte inte på några problem med ClickPad i vårt test. Du bör dock fortfarande inte trycka ner för att klicka på den utan istället knacka på plattan, eftersom den annars ger upphov till mycket höga klickljud

Fodralets botten är fäst med totalt sju Torxskruvar (T5) och kan lätt tas bort. Användaren får då tillgång till fläktarna, batteriet, M.2-2280 SSD:n och WLAN-modulen. Arbetsminnet är dock fastlödd på moderkortet och kan varken bytas ut eller utökas.

Även om Lenovo har utrustat Yoga med en Wi-Fi-6-modul från Broadcom är det bara en 1x1-modul. Det innebär att överföringshastigheten är begränsad till 866 Mbit/s, vilket också bekräftades i vårt test med vår referensrouter Netgear AX12. Överföringshastigheterna är dock fortfarande stabila och det bör inte finnas några begränsningar i den dagliga driften.

Som redan var fallet i vår tidigare testenhetanvänds även här en reflekterande 14-tumsskärm med en upplösning på 2880 x 1800 pixlar (16:10) och 90 Hz uppdateringsfrekvens, men i det här fallet är det en OLED-skärm i stället för en IPS-skärm. Det subjektiva intrycket av bildkvaliteten är utmärkt och gynnas särskilt av ett extremt högt kontrastförhållande. Uppdateringsfrekvensen på 90 Hz blir främst märkbar vid rörelse (t.ex. vid rullning på webbplatser och i dokument), och i kombination med OLED-panelens extremt snabba svarstider leder detta till ett extremt jämnt bildintryck.

Ljusstyrkan ligger på 400 cd/m² i nästan alla mätpunkter, vilket ger en extremt bra ljusfördelning på 98 %. Som väntat är svartvärdet noll, vilket i teorin ger ett oändligt högt kontrastförhållande. På grund av OLED-tekniken är ljushalos inget problem. Vi mäter dock PWM vid ljusstyrkor på 80 % eller lägre. PWM-frekvensen ligger på cirka 360 Hz, vilket kan leda till problem för mer känsliga personer.

Vi mätte skärmen med den professionella CalMAN-programvaran (X-Rite i1 Pro 2). Bildkvaliteten är bra redan i leveransstadiet, eftersom det inte finns någon synlig färgton och färgtemperaturen inte heller är för kall. Det finns några separata outliers i färgerna som ligger över den viktiga avvikelsens målvärde på 3, och vi kunde inte heller korrigera detta helt och hållet med vår egen kalibrering. Display Response Times

Display response times show how fast the screen is able to change from one color to the next. Slow response times can lead to afterimages and can cause moving objects to appear blurry (ghosting). Gamers of fast-paced 3D titles should pay special attention to fast response times.

Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . This cycling frequency should ideally be undetectable to the human eye. If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

The display backlight flickers at 362.3 Hz (worst case, e.g., utilizing PWM) Flickering detected at a brightness setting of 80 % and below. There should be no flickering or PWM above this brightness setting.

The frequency of 362.3 Hz is relatively high, so most users sensitive to PWM should not notice any flickering. However, there are reports that some users are still sensitive to PWM at 500 Hz and above, so be aware.

In comparison: 53 % of all tested devices do not use PWM to dim the display. If PWM was detected, an average of 8710 (minimum: 5 - maximum: 343500) Hz was measured.

Under mycket ljusa och soliga dagar är ljusstyrkan otillräcklig för att på ett rimligt sätt kompensera för reflektionerna på den blanka skärmen. I princip finns det inga klagomål på betraktningsvinkelstabiliteten, men du kan ändå märka den lilla blå färgton från vissa specifika betraktningsvinklar som är typisk för OLED-skärmar.

Prestanda - Yoga Slim Pro med full Ryzen-kraft

 
 
 

Testvillkor

Lenovo erbjuder tre olika prestandaprofiler i den förinstallerade Vantage-appen: ett batterisparläge, intelligent kylning (förinställd) och högsta prestanda. Du kan växla mellan dem antingen via programvaran eller med hjälp av tangentkombinationen Fn+Q. Vi körde benchmarks och mätningar nedan med förinställningen intelligent kylning, eftersom läget högsta prestanda endast erbjöd en liten prestandaökning i processorn (och inte grafikkortet), vilket inte motiverade de högre fläktarna enligt vår mening. Batterisparläget minskar prestandan mycket kraftigt och är främst lämpligt om du vill ha en tyst bärbar dator hela tiden i daglig drift.

Processor - Ryzen 9 5900HS

AMD Ryzen 9 5900HS har 8 kärnor (16 trådar) som är baserade på Zen 3-arkitekturen. Jämfört med 5900HXär klockfrekvenserna något lägre, men prestandan är praktiskt taget identisk när det gäller Yoga Slim 7 Pro. I det normala läget förblir processorns strömförbrukning konstant på 42 watt, vilket leder till mycket goda resultat. I läget för högsta prestanda stiger förbrukningen kortvarigt till mer än 60 watt, men skillnaden är liten vid längre belastning.

Totalt sett är prestandan för en kärnprocessor något lägre än för mobila Intel-processorer som t.ex Core i7-11370H, som för närvarande används i många bärbara datorer. Fyrkärnorna från Intel har dock ingen chans i flerkärniga tester och Ryzen 9 5900HS erbjuder nästan dubbelt så hög prestanda vid en jämförbar TDP. CPU-prestandan minskar inte i batteridrift. Förutom den integrerade Vega 8 GPUsom sköter grafikberäkningen i vardagliga uppgifter, är vår Yoga Slim 7 Pro-testenhet också utrustad med en dedikerad Nvidia GeForce MX450grafikkort. Det här är 25-wattsversionen med 2 GB GDDR6 VRAM. Även om detta naturligtvis inte gör Yoga till en bärbar dator för spel, finns det en genomsnittlig prestandaökning på cirka 40 % jämfört med den integrerade grafikprocessorn (beroende på kraven i benchmarks kan det vara stora skillnader). Under spel kan prestandan också vara dubbelt så hög ibland. Särskilt i moderna spel som Cyberpunk 2077 måste man dock begränsa sig till låga detaljer och endast i äldre eller mindre krävande spel kan höga detaljer också vara möjliga. Prestandan förblir konstant även under längre spelsessioner.

Yoga Slim 7 Pro 14 är i princip en mycket tyst följeslagare och för det mesta kommer du inte att höra den bärbara datorn alls eller bara höra en tyst surrning ibland. Vid tyngre belastning, till exempel under spelande, når de två fläktarna däremot snabbt upp till 43,5 dB(A) och ljudet är då tydligt märkbart. Med det valfria läget för högsta prestanda når det något mer än 47 dB(A), även om prestandan knappast förändras. I batterisparläge är den kompakta enheten extremt tyst med högst 31,4 dB(A), även under belastning. Vi märkte inga andra irriterande ljud som till exempel spolens gnissel. Yoga 14 utan dGPUär fortfarande betydligt tystare under belastning.

Temperatur

Till och med under vardaglig användning är Yoga Slim 7 Pro-boxen flera grader varmare än vanligt, men det finns inga begränsningar till följd av detta. Under belastning finns det några hotspots på undersidan med mer än 50 °C och du bör inte placera enheten i knät vid sådana tillfällen.

Under stresstestet delar de två processorerna på TDP-kapaciteten praktiskt taget jämnt, och både GeForce GPU:n samt Ryzen-processorn förbrukar cirka 23 watt. I det valfria läget för högsta prestanda fortsätter det att förekomma några korta prestandatoppar hos CPU:n som då också snabbt leder till betydligt högre chiptemperaturer. Sammantaget kan vi intyga en solid prestanda för en så slimmad subnotebook.

Effektförbrukning

Den högupplösta OLED-skärmen har en betydande inverkan på strömförbrukningen. Vid tomgångsdrift med maximal ljusstyrka förbrukar vår testenhet cirka 50 % mer ström än den Yoga Slim 7 Pro 14 med IPS-skärm. I stresstestet mäter vi omkring 98 watt under en kortare tidsperiod, innan värdet planar ut på omkring 85 watt. Det medföljande nätaggregatet på 95 watt är därför helt tillräckligt.

Batteritid

Även om ingenting har förändrats när det gäller batterikapaciteten på 61 Wh, har den högre strömförbrukningen en negativ inverkan på batteritiden. I WLAN-testet vid 150 cd/m² (vilket motsvarar cirka 64 % av den maximala ljusstyrkan i vår testenhet) klarar den bärbara datorn endast 5,5 timmar, medan den IPS-modellenklarar sig i nästan 9 timmar här. Vid full ljusstyrka minskar WLAN-drifttiden till endast 4 timmar.

Tack vare den snabba Ryzen-processorn förblir Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 Pro 14 en mycket kraftfull underbok även i den här testkonfigurationen. Processorns prestanda kan lätt hålla jämna steg även med stora mobila arbetsstationer och överträffar subnotebook-konkurrenterna med Intels Tiger Lake-H35 fyrkärniga processorer betydligt. Det extra dedikerade GeForce -grafikkortet ökar särskilt spelprestandan, men å andra sidan blir Yoga också betydligt högre och varmare under belastning.

Den valfria OLED-skärmen erbjuder en mycket bra bildkvalitet och täcker mer av P3-färgrymden jämfört med den (också bra) IPS-skärmen. Det finns dock också två allvarliga nackdelar i form av PWM-flimmer och den betydligt högre strömförbrukningen. Detta innebär också att batteritiden blir ganska medioker med 4 till 5,5 timmar i WLAN-drift

Den dedikerade GeForce-MX450 GPU:n gör Yoga Slim 7 Pro 14 ännu mer mångsidig, men detta sker på bekostnad av fläktljudet och yttemperaturen. Den valfria OLED-skärmen ger en mycket bra bildkvalitet, men förkortar också batteritiden avsevärt.

De som letar efter en subnotebook med bättre spelprestanda bör ta en titt på följande Schenker Vision 14. Även om CPU-prestandan hos dessCore i7-11370H är betydligt lägre, är dess dedikerade GeForce RTX 3050 Ti mycket kraftfullare. MedanHuawei MateBook 14serbjuder mindre prestanda, är det totala paketet ännu bättre i vardaglig drift, särskilt om du behöver en längre batteritid.
