Acers Switch Alpha 12 utmanar inte bara med ett lågt pris inklusive tangentbordsdocka, utan också med en genomtänkt helhet och innovativ kylteknik. 12-tummaren har ett välbyggt hölje som kan hävda sig mot konkurrenter som är dubbelt så dyra.
Surfplattan är något för tung för dagligt bruk, men inmatningsenheterna är nästan i nivå med de dyrare modellerna från Microsoft. Skärmen är också imponerande, men mest intressant är den fläktlösa prestandan, med en kraftfull Intel Core i5-processor. Den här lösningen kan möjligen vara framtiden för tunna bärbara datorer och surfplattor. Om Acer även lyckas öka batteritiden och ljudkvaliteten får konkurrenterna det svårt framöver.
Användare som inte kan leva med den korta batteritiden kan titta närmare på alternativ som Lenovos IdeaPad Miix 700 eller HP:s Spectre x2.
