Aero 17 får förra årets Aorus X7 DT att verka förlegad. Den är märkbart lättare, robustare, mer ljusstark, tystare, snabbare, svalare, mer uthållig och mer effektiv - på samma gång. Om du har funderat på att skaffa en Aorus X-laptop finns det i princip ingen anledning att inte istället välja Aero 17.
Jämfört med andra högpresterande ultratunna bärbara datorer i den här storlekskategorin kombinerar Aero 17 fyra särskilt intressanta egenskaper som inte finns tillsammans någon annanstans: Thunderbolt 3, en SD-kortläsare i full storlek, ett numeriskt tangentbord i full storlek och en extremt ljusstark förkalibrerad HDR400 Pantone-skärm. Konkurrerande modeller som MSI GS75, MSI P75, Asus Zephyrus GX701 och till och med Razer Blade Pro 17/Blade Studio saknar minst en av dessa saker. Aero 17 känns som ett komplett paket för kreatörer och gamers snarare än en dator som i huvudsak riktar sig åt gamers men har en del proffsfunktioner inslängda här och där.
Det finns ändå en hel del Gigabyte kan göra för att Aero 17 ska bli en ännu bättre maskin. I synnerhet kunde återkopplingen från tangentbordet och klickplattan varit fastare och de obelysta tangentsymbolerna är en miss. Webbkameran är dåligt placerad och IR är inte ett alternativ vilket är synd på en laptop som riktar sig åt proffs. En fjädrad SD-kortläsare hade varit att föredra och både 2.5 Gbit RJ-45 och USB Typ C PD hade känts rätt för Aero-serien. På en såpass dyr laptop förväntar vi oss allt och lite till på nästa utgåva.
Högpresterande Aero 17 är tystare än sina konkurrenter samtidigt som den erbjuder mer hårdvaruegenskaper för både kreatörer, proffs och gamers. Den utmanar Razer Blade Pro 17 med en riktigt ljusstark HDR400-skärm och ett numeriskt tangentbord i full storlek - vilket inte finns på särskilt många andra tunna laptops.
