Det är inte särskilt svårt att hitta brister när man tittar på billigare spellaptops, då tillverkaren måste gå en svår balansgång för att balansera jämförelsevis billiga material med ett bra utseende och tillräckligt potent hårdvara för att tilltala så många användare som möjligt. När det gäller Omen 15 är vi lockade att kritisera det pressade övre metallhöljet med sina rätt så skarpa kanter, de tydliga problemen med bleeding på skärmen och det påträngande fläktsystemet. Men ingen av nackdelarna är avgörande när det rör sig om ett spelsystem: allt som allt så är HP Omen 15 ett billigt Max-Q system med tillräcklig prestanda för att hantera många aktuella spel i åtminstone Full HD-upplösning.
Den nyare designen med sin "i ditt ansikte"-utformning kanske inte tilltalar alla, men det är ingen tvekan om att byggkvaliteten själv är fullt duglig med en bas som har bra motstånd mot vridning och inget sviktande på tangentbordsplattan. Inmatningsenheterna fungerar bra, hårdvaran är kraftfull och den ljusstarka UHD IPS-skärmen är - särskilt efter kalibrering - rätt så fantastisk för priset. Omen 15 blir fortfarande ganska varm, men inte i närheten så varm som en del andra system. Fläktarna är, däremot, ganska irriterande då dom spinner upp regelbundet och ofta producerar ett oscillerande ljud som tär på nerverna.
Användare som vill köpa en billig spellaptop i låg till mellanskiktet med 4K-skärm borde definitivt skriva upp Omen 15 på sin lista över potentiella kandidater.
Spellaptopen Dell Inspiron 15 kommer med en sämre skärm, men har ändå väldigt duglig prestanda och håller dubbelt så länge på en batteriladdning.
