En omvandlingsbar på 15 tum är en hård nöt att knäcka, helt enkelt på grund av att den stora skärmstorleken i sig gör surfplatteläget mycket krångligare att använda jämfört med mindre alternativ. HP Spectre x360 15 kan vara aningen större än konkurrenten XPS 15 9575, men dess design och kvalitet behöver inte känna sig underlägsen någon annan i den här kategorin.
Om du gräver djupare i hur Spectre med Kaby Lake-G presterar märker du att systemet är en besvikelse jämfört med Kaby Lake-R konfigurationen. På papperet borde Core i7-8705G och Radeon RX Vega M GL vara betydligt snabbare än i7-8550U och GeForce MX150. I praktiken lider dock Kaby Lake-G varianten av betydande problem med strypning som i slutändan dämpar många av de prestandafördelar som detta chip har att komma med. Den som i huvudsak planerar att använda datorn för ordbehandling, strömning eller surfande kommer inte att märka strypningen, men att köra krävande applikationer med ihållande belastning såsom spel kommer att få den att gå på knäna.
De låga kraftprofilerna som i7-8550U och GeForce MX150 har är också till fördel för den billigare konfigurationen med Kaby Lake-R. Vår Kaby Lake-G enhet är i allmänhet mycket mer högljudd och har mycket kortare batteritid jämfört med Kaby Lake-R versionen.
Om du planerar att spela mycket eller är känslig för skärmflimmer så klarar du dig bättre med XPS 15 9575 alternativt en dedikerad spellaptop med GTX 1050 Ti grafik om 2-i-1 funktionaliteten inte är av intresse. Om surfande och lätt multimedia är ditt syfte är Spectre med Kaby Lake-R mer än tillräcklig.
Kaby Lake-G är imponerande teknik, vilket har bevisats av Intel Hades Canyon NUC och Dell XPS 15 9575. Spectre x360 15 är den minst imponerande implementeringen av detta chip vi sett hittills. Om du vill ha Kaby Lake-G är Dells motsvarighet ett bättre val. Annars kan du bespara dig problemen med prestandastrypning genom att välja den billigare och mer stabila Kaby Lake R-konfigurerade Spectre x360 15.
