Trots att HTC inte ändrat designen så mycket ser U11 tydligt annorlunda ut jämfört med föregångaren HTC 10 och andra konkurrenter, tack vare material och extraordinära färgval. Tekniskt sett håller telefonen hög klass, med en toppmodern processor och gott om lagringsutrymme.
Även om ljudet alltid har varit en av HTC:s starka sidor är U11 inte med i toppstriden längre. Visserligen har HTC byggt in mycket ljudteknik, men vi förstår inte riktigt övergången till ett USB-baserat ljudgränssnitt. Det är synd, eftersom det medföljande headsetet är utmärkt. Användare som föredrar Bluetooth-anslutning av högtalare kan också bli besvikna eftersom aptX inte stöds.
HTC U11 tar enastående bilder av hög kvalitet och presterar bättre än klassledaren Galaxy S8 i svaga ljusförhållanden. Tyvärr räcker det inte för en förstaplats i kategorin, eftersom kameran tappar poäng vad gäller justeringsmöjligheter och tillgängliga videoalternativ.
U11 är relativt stor, men innehåller ändå bara ett 3000 mAh-batteri. Ett batteri med högre kapacitet hade varit ett bättre val enligt oss – särskilt eftersom batteritiden inte står sig särskilt bra jämfört med konkurrenterna. Allt som allt är HTC U11 ändå en enastående smartphone.
