P9 Lite från Huawei är en stark utmanare i mellanklassegmentet som gör många saker bättre än föregångaren P8 Lite. Den kan inte mäta sig med Huaweis flaggskepp P9 som har en överlägsen fingeravtrycksläsare, snabbare LTE, nyare Bluetooth, dual-band-Wi-Fi, USB Type-C, en mycket snabbare systemkrets och en panel med högre kontrast. Däremot ser båda nästan likadana ut, även om metall/plastblandningen som används till P9 Lite inte gör samma kvalitetsintryck som P9.
Men det betyder inte att P9 Lite är dålig. Sett till prisklassen tilltalar den med sin mycket ljusstarka Full HD-panel och den senaste Androidversionen, 6.0.1. En snabb, åttakärnig HiSilicon Kirin 650 och 3 GB RAM säkerställer bra prestanda. Anslutningsmöjligheterna inkluderar LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11n och dubbla SIM-kortplatser. Även batteritiden är mycket bra.
Huaweis solida P9 Lite kan bara kritiseras på några punkter: plasten ger lite för dåligt grepp och kameran kunde varit lite bättre, även om den tar fullt gångbara foton och videoklipp. Panelen är också något felkalibrerad, men det är heller inget som kommer att märkas i dagligt bruk. Monohögtalaren behöver egentligen inte listas som en nackdel eftersom det är samma variant som i P9.
