Det finns i princip ingen annan tillverkare som erbjuder ett modulärt koncept i likhet med Motorolas: LG drog sig undan från marknaden för modulära telefoner efter ett försök med LG G5 och Fairphone 2 är mer baserad runt möjligheten att byta ut individuella komponenter när dom är trasiga eller utdaterade. Istället låter Motorolas Moto Z-serie användaren ansluta olika komponenter på telefonens baksida från ett utbud av olika tillbehör. Bara möjligheten att ändra stilen på höljet och på så sätt skapa en annorlunda baksida kan vara en viktig aspekt för många användare.
Moto Z3 Play är fortfarande kompatibel med alla tidigare Moto Mods, vilket är ytterligare en fördel med denna serie. Enheten erbjuder mittenskikts-prestanda och det ingår till och med en batteri-mod som en extra present i förpackningen. Denna mod ökar batterikapaciteten och således batteritiden hos Moto Z3 Play ordentligt. Men det bör nämnas att batteritiden utan modden är riktigt kort, konstigt nog till och med i jämförelse med dess föregångare. Moto Z3 Plays höga energiförbrukning kan beskyllas för detta, men Motorola kanske kan förbättra denna aspekt med en framtida mjukvaruuppdatering. För tillfället är energiförbrukningen dock alldeles för hög.
En vital skärm, ett högkvalitativt hölje, skaplig GPS, ren Android med garanterade uppdateringar och överkomliga kameror rundar av paketet.
Moto Z3 Play är en tunn mittenskiktsenhet med kort batteritid. Den står ut i huvudsak tack vare sina moddar.
Kortare batteritider jämfört med den föregående modellen kontrasteras av högre prestanda och mer avancerade kommunikationsmöjligheter. Med tanke på det låga priset kan Moto Z2 Play vara ett bra alternativ för den som vill prova på Moto Mod-systemet.
