Tittar vi på specifikationerna och jämför Note20 och Note 20 Ultra sida vid sida känns det som att den förstnämnda har en del kompromisser. Som exempel har den enklare modellen inte stöd för 5G och 60 Hz-skärmen är inte värdig den här klassen. Samsung har gått ännu längre och har återgått till en äldre skärmteknik än vad Note20:s föregångare hade. Föga förvånande är reaktionen från en typisk teknikentusiast något mellan ett höjt ögonbryn och en rätt så allvarlig hjärtattack. Grädden på det Europeiska moset är faktum att Samsung fortsätter att använda sin egna långsammare SoC till enheter som säljs i Europa trots faktum att aktuella processorer från Qualcomm har lyckats bredda prestanda-gapet ytterligare.
Samsung Galaxy Note20 saknar ett antal funktioner som vi förväntar oss från en aktuell toppskiktstelefon. Men trots detta är konceptet fortfarande riktigt starkt och kraftfullt.
För att sätta detta i perspektiv så är Galaxy Note20 fortfarande en kraftfull flaggskeppstelefon med ett utgångspris på under 10.000 kronor, som dessutom är betydligt lägre i butik. Om du letar efter en kraftfull smartphone med stöd för S-Pen och garanterade uppdateringar under en lång tid samtidigt som du vill tänka på budgeten kan Note20 vara rätt enhet för dig. En platt skärm och en mindre kamerabula gör det mycket mer praktiskt att arbeta med S-Pen och har du aldrig upplevt en skärm med snabbare bilduppdatering än 60 Hz kommer du troligen inte sakna en sådan. Den enda egentliga bristen är att skärmen är mörkare, men den har också naturligare färger än på Ultra-modellen.
