XMG Neo 15 kan tävla på toppen av den kraftigt konkurrensutsatta marknaden för tunna spellaptops, men den kan inte riktigt slå dom nuvarande ledarna Gigabyte Aero 15X (88%) och Razer Blade 15 (87%). 

Helhetsintrycket är mer i linje med MSI GS65 (86%) eller Asus ROG GU501GM (85%).

Positiva aspekter inkluderar det väldigt kompakta höljet och det förvånansvärt robusta metallchassit som - bortsett från Thunderbolt 3 och USB 3.1 Gen.2 - erbjuder rikligt med portar såväl som ett mekaniskt tangentbord (med RGB-belysning). Det sistnämnda är definitivt ett köpargument som sätter Neo 15 framför sina konkurrenter.

Vi gillade även skärmen: Kombinationen av IPS-teknologi, 144 Hz och en design med tunn infattning är nästan allt man kan förvänta sig av en dyr laptop från 2018.

Det finns också några nackdelar såsom högtalarens kvalitet och hög värmeutveckling och ljudnivå. Neo 15 blir inte bara varm vid belastning utan även väldigt högljudd. Barebone-tillverkaren Tongfang borde även jobba på fläktkontrollen i tomgångsläge samt batterikapaciteten, som borde vara på minst 70 Wh för bättre mobilitet.
