MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Ti 16G Ventus 3X OC-granskning: Nästan perfekt mainstream Blackwell GPU förutsatt att du kan få en till $ 749 MSRP

Bedömning: RTX 4080 och RX 7900 XTX-dödaren hålls tillbaka av starka marknadsrealiteter

Nvidias tredje bästa Blackwell GPU i år, RTX 5070 Ti, kommer inte i en Founders Edition-variant, men ett stort antal partnerkort finns tillgängliga, inklusive MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Ti Ventus 3X OC.

RTX 5070 Ti har mycket som talar för det, särskilt med tanke på att det bara är en nedskuren GB203 GPU med samma, om än något långsammare, 16 GB GDDR7-minnesgränssnitt. Jämfört med RTX 5080 FE kommer du att förlora cirka 10 % prestanda med RTX 5070 Ti - inte illa med tanke på prisskillnaden på 25 % vid MSRP.

Som ett Ventus-kort har GeForce RTX 5070 Ti Ventus 3X OC inte några klockor och visselpipor. Det är dock välbyggt och SFF-storleken kommer att tilltala många.

RTX 5070 Ti Ventus 3X OC lyckas ta sig före RTX 4080 Founders Edition i syntetiska benchmarks, vilket är att förvänta med tanke på generationsförbättringarna. Upplyftningen från RTX 4070 Ti är också ganska betydande.

I spelvärlden ökar gapet mellan RTX 5070 Ti och RTX 4080 i ren rasterprestanda samtidigt som det är en hårsmån snabbare än Radeon RX 7900 XTX, som är det nuvarande flaggskeppet från AMD:s stall.

Med strålspårning aktiverat drar RX 7900 XTX ytterligare ifrån RTX 5070 Ti. I grund och botten, om du är en 1440p-spelare, är RTX 5070 Ti en no brainer. 4K-spelare skulle också klara sig bra, med ett genomsnitt på 20% vinster från RTX 4070 Ti. Lite hjälp med uppskalning kan göra det möjligt för RTX 5070 Ti att driva ännu fler ramar vid 4K.

RTX 5070 Ti:s största dragplåster kommer från dess stöd för de senaste Nvidia-teknikerna som DLSS 4 multi-frame generation. Så gimmickigt som det kan tyckas ger det RTX 5070 Ti en fördel i titlar som stöds, vilket gör att den kan överträffa RTX 4090: s inbyggda rendering.

MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Ti Ventus 3X OC har mycket som går för det. Men du kommer också att behöva kämpa med bristen på extra TGP-headroom, VBIOS-växling och naturligtvis RGB.

MSI:s kylsystem för Ventus verkar ganska ordinärt, men det gör ett bra jobb med att hålla termiken under kontroll utan större problem med strypning. Vad som dock är oroande är de höga fläktljudutsläppen under belastning.

MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Ti Ventus 3X OC förtjänar definitivt ett övervägande om du är på marknaden för Nvidias senaste kort. Det finns inget livskraftigt alternativ i detta segment för tillfället, men det här kortet är bara lukrativt om du kan få ett till den Nvidia-mandaterade $ 749 MSRP eller till MSI: s $ 830-prissättning åtminstone, trots lagertillgänglighet.

Något högre - det kommer de säkert att vara - och värdeförslaget sjunker avsevärt. Det finns alla möjliga RTX 5070 Ti-alternativ där ute som säljs till löjligt upphöjda priser utan någon verklig fördel. Vi föreslår att du väntar på att se vad AMD har i lager med Radeon RX 9000-serien i början av mars innan du tar steget.

Nu har vi fått Nvidias tredje Blackwell GPU, GeForce RTX 5070 Ti. Till skillnad från RTX 5080 och RTX 5090kommer RTX 5070 Ti inte i en Founders Edition-variant.

Nvidias AiB-partners (add-in board) har dock en mängd olika RTX 5070 Ti-varianter på gång, allt från MSRP till anpassad prissättning.

RTX 5070 Ti är skuren från samma GB203-dyna som driver RTX 5080 men med nästan 17% färre (8 960) CUDA-kärnor. På den ljusa sidan erbjuder RTX 5070 Ti 6% fler CUDA-kärnor än RTX 4070 Ti Super.

Användningen av GB203 GPU innebär att RTX 5070 Ti delar samma 16 GB GDDR7-minnessubsystem som RTX 5080, även om det arbetar med en långsammare bandbredd på 896 GB/s.

För våra tester har vi med oss MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Ti Ventus 3X OC. MSI:s Ventus-serie är inriktad på att erbjuda en GPU-upplevelse utan krusiduller, och vårt RTX 5070 Ti-prov är inget undantag.

MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Ti Ventus 3X OC mäter 303 x 121 x 49 mm och väger 1,07 kg, vilket gör det till ett 2-slot-kort som passar i många SFF-byggnationer (Small Form Factor).

Frontkåpan i plast känns robust och bakplattan i metall har en stor utskärning för effektiv värmeavledning.

RTX 5070 Ti Ventus 3X OC är helt utan RGB-bling. Även logotyperna "GeForce RTX" och "MSI" på kortets ovansida är bara målade bokstäver.

Anslutningsmöjligheterna inkluderar 3x DisplayPort 2.1b-utgångar och 1x HDMI 2.1b-utgång. En 12VHWPR-kontakt levererar den ström som krävs. En 12VHPWR till 2x 8-pins adapter erbjuds i lådan för användning med icke-ATX 3.x PSU.

Det finns ingen VBIOS-omkopplare för att växla prestandalägen i farten heller, så du måste lita på MSI Center eller MSI Afterburner för någon form av GPU-inställning.

Tillbehören i lådan är minimala - du får bara ett GPU-stöd, en 12VHPWR till 2x 8-polig adapter och snabbstartsguiden.

RTX 5070 Ti Ventus 3X OC är klassad för att boosta upp till 2 482 MHz, vilket är 30 MHz högre än Nvidias officiella 2 452 MHz för RTX 5070 Ti.

Detta kan höjas ytterligare till 2 497 MHz genom att aktivera Extreme Performance-läget i MSI Center.

Tyvärr är effektgränserna begränsade till 100% utan något utrymme för ökning.

Syntetiska riktmärken: Placerar sig precis mellan RX 7900 XTX och RTX 4080

MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Ti Ventus 3X OC är 5% snabbare än RTX 4080 Founders Edition i kumulativa 3DMark- och Unigine-tester medan den släpar efter Radeon RX 7900 XTX med samma avstånd.

RTX 5070 Ti Ventus 3X OC är också hela 26% snabbare jämfört med Aorus GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Master. För perspektiv var RTX 4070 Ti $ 50 dyrare vid lanseringen tillbaka på dagen.

Med en 17-procentig minskning av CUDA-kärnor är RTX 5070 Ti totalt sett 11 % långsammare än RTX 5080 Founders Edition i syntetiska riktmärken.

DLSS 4 generering av flera ramar

Alla RTX GPU:er från Turing-generationen har stöd för DLSS 4, men endast RTX 50 Blackwell GPU:erna kan generera flera bilder (MFG).

MFG gör att RTX 5070 Ti ligger långt före RTX 4090 i spel som stöds. Till exempel, medan RTX 4090 klarar nära 90 fps i Star Wars Outlaws vid 4K med ultra ray tracing och DLSS-ramgenerering och ray reconstruction aktiverat, kan RTX 5070 Ti Ventus 3X OC uppnå 114 fps vid samma inställningar med 4x MFG.

För närvarande är det bara ett begränsat antal titlar som har inbyggt stöd för MFG på RTX 50 GPU:er. Nvidia-appen erbjuder dock ett sätt att tvinga fram MFG i många fler kompatibla spel.

RTX 5070 Ti Ventus 3X OC har ingen avancerad kylningskonfiguration, men den gör det grundläggande rätt.

Enligt MSI har RTX 5070 Ti Ventus 3X OC en basplatta i nickelpläterad koppar tillsammans med fyrkantiga heatpipes för att säkerställa effektiv värmeöverföring från GPU:n.

Stresstest

Med FurMark (1 280 x 720, utan AA) får RTX 5070 Ti Ventus 3X OC en boost på 2 715 MHz med en maximal strömförbrukning på 300 W och en genomsnittlig kärntemperatur på 69,2 °C.

I en mer verklighetstrogen stress som Cyberpunk 2077 vid 1080p Ultra kan RTX 5070 Ti Ventus 3X OC boosta upp till 2 857 MHz med en mycket lägre strömförbrukning på 266 W samtidigt som den genomsnittliga kärntemperaturen ligger kvar på 65,5 °C.

Yttemperaturerna är lätthanterliga, med en främre kåpa som förblir relativt sval och en bakre platta som ligger långt under 45 °C under belastning vid en omgivningstemperatur på 23 °C.

Vi uppmätte nära 49 °C runt 12VHPWR-kontakten, vilket är normalt och borde lugna alla som oroar sig för överdriven värme.

RTX 5070 Ti Ventus 3X OC:s tre Torx 5.0-fläktar gör ett bra jobb med att hålla GPU:n sval. Fläktarna stannar helt när GPU:n är i viloläge i standardfläktkurvan.

Fläktarna kan dock bli ganska högljudda under belastning. I FurMark registrerade vi en maximal ljudtrycksnivå (SPL) på 51,56 dB(A). Ljudnivåerna under spel är relativt lägre på 43,22 dB(A).

Det finns ingen dedikerad VBIOS-profilomkopplare, så du måste förlita dig på MSI Center eller MSI Afterburner och liknande för att definiera anpassade fläktkurvor vid behov.

Energihantering: Påtagliga effektivitetsvinster jämfört med RTX 4070 Ti och RX 7900 XTX

RTX 5070 Ti:s strömförbrukning från väggen under FurMark-belastning skiljer sig inte så mycket från RTX 4070 Ti:s. Märkligt nog drar RTX 5070 Ti Ventus 3X OC 14% och 23% mer ström än RTX 4080 FE när man spelar Cyberpunk 2077 och The Witcher 3 , respektive vid 1080p Ultra.

Med detta sagt erbjuder RTX 5070 Ti en påtaglig effektivitetsvinst på 14 % jämfört med RTX 4070 Ti i Cyberpunk 2077. Detta minskar dock till bara 4% i The Witcher 3.
