Med Core Ultra-processorerna vill Intel äntligen komma ikapp AMD när det gäller iGPU-prestanda. Vi har granskat Lenovo Yoga Pro 7 14 för att se om de kan hantera det. Kommer Intels comeback att bli en framgång?

Alla som för närvarande är på jakt efter en kompakt och snabb multimedia-laptop kommer att få jackpot med Yoga Pro 7. Vår testversion är 14IMH9-modellen och finns tillgänglig över den (virtuella) disken för cirka 1 300 USD. För detta pris får du 32 GB DDR5 7467 RAM (lödd; ej expanderbar), en 1 TB M.2 SSD och en superskarp 3K-panel med pekfunktionalitet (16:10, 120 Hz, IPS). Men huvudattraktionen är den helt nya Meteor Lake-processorn: Den Core Ultra 7 155H lovar inte bara hög prestanda när det gäller applikationer, utan den gör också en solid show när det gäller spel och 3D-bilder tack vare den relativt potenta Arc iGPU.

Fall

Multitalangen glänser med ett elegant och högkvalitativt metallchassi som med sina nästan 1,6 kg inte precis är en av de lättaste 14-tumsenheterna (ThinkPad X1 väger till exempel bara 1,1 kg), men den erbjuder ändå bra stabilitet. Öppningsvinkeln på 180° är mycket generös.

Portar

Om du kan klara dig utan en kortläsare eller en RJ45-port kommer du att hitta mycket att vara nöjd med när det gäller portvalet. Yoga Pro 7 14 har två USB-C-portar med Power Delivery- och DisplayPort-funktionalitet (1x Thunderbolt 4, 1x USB 3.2 Gen.2) samt en USB-A-port som använder 3.2 Gen.1-standarden. Dessa har sällskap av en HDMI 2.1-utgång och ett ljuduttag. Eftersom alla portar är placerade på den bakre halvan av sidoytorna är det inga problem att använda en mus.

Kommunikation

Intels radiomodul (Wi-Fi 6E AX211) gör en riktigt bra figur både när det gäller att skicka och ta emot data och kan enkelt hålla jämna steg med konkurrenterna.

Underhåll

Underhållet är ganska okomplicerat. Efter att ha lossat sex Torx-skruvar är det möjligt att lyfta basplattan från dess förankring (börja helst bakifrån). Inne i enheten väntar kylsystemet (två fläktar plus två värmerör), W-Fi-modulen, batteriet och två M.2-kortplatser varav en fortfarande är ledig.

Tangentbord

Inmatningsenheterna får ett bra betyg. Vi börjar med tangentbordet som har en bra layout och (bortsett från de mittersta pilknapparna) väl tilltagna tangenter. Skrivupplevelsen är också utmärkt, om än utan att helt överväldiga oss. Tack vare den vita belysningen i två nivåer är det även möjligt att skriva i mörker.

Pekplatta

Pekplattan får särskilt bra betyg för sina generösa mått på 13,5 x 8 cm. De andra aspekterna är inte heller så illa - oavsett om det är den smidiga svepupplevelsen (slät yta), precisionen eller geststödet. Endast klickområdet kan fortfarande göra med lite tweaking från Lenovo eftersom det är något obehagligt för vår smak.

Display

Medan AMD-versionen var utrustad med en QHD+-skärm (2 560 x 1 600), har den granskade Intel-versionen en 3K-panel med högre upplösning, 3 072 x 1 920 pixlar, vilket är ganska annorlunda när det gäller bildvärdena.

Den första positiva aspekten är den breda färgrymden. Istället för 73 % AdobeRGB och 72 % DCI P3, enligt våra mätningar, klarar 3K-versionen hela 87 % AdobeRGB och 98 % DCI P3. Även svarstiderna är bättre och har ibland halverats (svartvitt 14 istället för 28 ms). Dessutom har 3K-varianten högre ljusstyrka (456 vs 348 cd/m²) även om pekskärmspanelen lider något i ljusa miljöer på grund av dess reflekterande, glansiga yta. Om så önskas kan en matt displayfilm hjälpa till.

Kontrasten var något bättre i AMD-modellen eftersom QHD+-panelen har ett lägre bakvärde. Däremot är den granskade Intel-utgåvan en aning mer färgprecis. Redan från start ligger värdena inom det ideala intervallet tack vare enhetens fabrikskalibrering.

Display response times show how fast the screen is able to change from one color to the next. Slow response times can lead to afterimages and can cause moving objects to appear blurry (ghosting). Gamers of fast-paced 3D titles should pay special attention to fast response times.

Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . This cycling frequency should ideally be undetectable to the human eye. If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

In comparison: 53 % of all tested devices do not use PWM to dim the display. If PWM was detected, an average of 8706 (minimum: 5 - maximum: 343500) Hz was measured.

Prestanda

Yoga Pro 7 är en av de mest kraftfulla 14-tums laptops (utan dGPU) på marknaden. 32 GB RAM-minne är lika generöst som 22 parallella CPU-trådar. Med Arc iGPUhar Intel eliminerat den tidigare stora klyftan mellan sig och AMD-konkurrenterna som t.ex Radeon 680M eller 780M.

Testförhållanden

Det finns tre driftlägen i den förinstallerade Lenovo Vantage-programvaran, men i våra tester var det ingen märkbar skillnad mellan "Intelligent Cooling" och "Highest Performance". I "Battery Saving Mode" förblev enheten dock tystare med begränsad prestanda. Alla mätningar registrerades med läget "Intelligent kylning".

Processor

Core Ultra 7 155H:s CPU-prestanda, med sina 6 prestandakärnor inklusive hyper-threading, innehåller 8 effektivitetskärnor och två så kallade lågenergikärnor och är mycket jämförbar med Ryzen 7 7840HS av AMD-varianterna. I Cinebench-slingan är vi glada att kunna rapportera att prestandan förblev stabil och det är inte något du kan säga om många andra Core Ultra-enheter (se graf). Generellt, när det gäller riktmärkesresultaten, ligger tävlingen lite bakom.

Grafikkort

Även om mer moderna och krävande spel fortsätter att rekommendera användningen av en dGPU, är Intel Arcs prestanda ganska respektabel. I de syntetiska jämförelserna lyckas Arc till och med ha näsan framför AMD:s Radeon 780M som tidigare satte riktmärket inom iGPU-området. Det är dock värt att påpeka att RAM-klockfrekvensen har, eller kan ha, ett stort inflytande på hastigheten hos en iGPU vilket är anledningen till att många system ofta inte bör jämföras 1:1. Oberoende av detta verkar Intel ha arbetat mycket med GPU-drivrutinen. Till skillnad från andra enheter med den gamla och, under tiden, relativt lama Iris Xe Graphics G7finns det knappast några felmeddelanden, krascher eller grafikbuggar när du spelar. Spelprestanda

I likhet med de syntetiska testerna hade Arc ingen anledning att gömma sig bakom Radeon 780M när det gällde spelutmaningar - i själva verket var det tvärtom. Även om Yoga Pro 7 oftast är för långsam för sin inbyggda 3K-lösning, så länge du begränsar dig till 1 920 x 1 080 (eller 1 920 x 1 200) pixlar, är de flesta spel spelbara - om än med de förväntade låga eller medelstora detaljerna. Tack vare sin måttliga strömförbrukning har 14-tumsenheten en förvånansvärd uthållighet - även utan nätaggregatet. I vårt Wi-Fi-test med 150 cd/m² reducerad ljusstyrka klarade Yoga Pro 7 14 nästan 11,5 timmar, vilket är cirka en timme längre än AMD-varianten och bara precis slagen av Asus ZenBook 14. När det gäller batteritid kan resten av konkurrenterna inte hålla jämna steg.

Sedan lanseringen av Core Ultra-processorerna har användare som värdesätter en snabb iGPU inte bara fått valuta för pengarna från AMD, utan nu även från Intel. För en iGPU har Ultra 7 155H:s Arc-accelerator mycket bra prestanda som åtminstone är i nivå med Radeon 780M.

Men genom att göra det har Yoga Pro 7 14 inte muterat till en strömslukare. Förutom strömförbrukningen är batteritiden också imponerande och det robusta premiumfodralet är ytterligare en pluspunkt. Om du ignorerar den glansiga ytan kan det knappast finnas några andra klagomål när det gäller granskningsenhetens pekskärm. 3K-panelen har hög ljusstyrka, generös färgrymd och underbar färgåtergivning.

Negativa aspekter kan hittas mer i detalj, oavsett om det är det lödda RAM-minnet eller frånvaron av en kortläsare.

Sammantaget har den granskade Yoga Pro 7 14IMH9 förtjänat en "Mycket bra".

14-tums tävlingen är också förstklassig - från Asus ZenBook 14 till HP Spectre x360 14 upp till Acer Swift Go 14 - alla med olika styrkor och svagheter.
